Summary: College Attendance Tracker is built as an offline-first utility application. We do not require account sign-ups, do not host student academic databases on external cloud servers, and do not sell or monetize personal student logs.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
We believe students deserve complete sovereignty over their educational records:
No Personal Identifiers: We do not collect or store your name, email address, student roll number, college registration ID, or phone number.
No Account Sign-up: All core capabilities (attendance marking, safe bunk calculating, PDF exporting) are fully accessible without registration.
No Academic Cloud Synchronization: Your subject list, lecture logs, absent dates, and custom percentages remain exclusively on your device.
2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
All functional data created during app usage is stored securely on your physical device using local database storage (Hive / local isolated storage):
Course and subject names.
Attendance logs (Present, Absent, Duty Leave, Medical Leave, Cancelled).
Custom lecture notes, timetable configurations, and local preferences.
3. Backups and Data Ownership
Because your academic records reside strictly on your local device, uninstalling the app or wiping your device will erase your local records unless backed up:
Exporting Data: When generating an encrypted/structured backup file (.json), it is written directly to your local file system, personal iCloud Drive, or chosen storage destination. We have no access to these files.
Importing Data: You retain complete autonomy to restore your semester attendance records on any compatible device at any time.
4. Device Permissions
The app requests minimal iOS device permissions strictly necessary for its advertised features:
App Tracking Transparency (iOS): Used solely to request permission for ad measurement and non-identifying telemetry via third-party advertising partners.
Notifications: Used exclusively to deliver optional, scheduled local reminders (e.g., daily attendance logging reminders). We do not send remote marketing push notifications.
Files & Storage Access: Invoked only when you explicitly export PDF attendance reports or save/load JSON backup files.
To keep the application free for students worldwide, we display mobile advertisements through certified advertising SDKs, including Google AdMob and mediation partners such as Unity LevelPlay / ironSource.
Data Collected by Advertising Partners
In full alignment with Apple's App Store Privacy Nutrition Labels, third-party advertising partners may collect the following technical telemetry data:
Identifiers (Device ID): Device advertising identifiers (IDFA) where permitted by user consent.
Usage Data (Product Interaction & Advertising Data): Ad display frequency, user ad interactions (views, taps), and mediation routing statistics.
Diagnostics: SDK crash logs and performance indicators to prevent ad failures.
App Tracking Transparency (ATT) Compliance
In accordance with Apple Guideline 5.1.1, on iOS devices the application displays an App Tracking Transparency prompt prior to requesting the IDFA:
If you select "Ask App not to Track": Your decision is strictly respected. Advertising identifiers are completely disabled, and only context-based, non-personalized advertisements are displayed.
Zero Feature Penalty: Declining tracking permission does not lock, restrict, or degrade any attendance-tracking or bunk-calculation functionality.
Changing Your Preference: You can modify or revoke this permission at any time via your device settings at: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → College Attendance Tracker.
6. Children's Privacy
Our application is designed for general student and adult use. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. All academic tracking operations occur locally on the user's hardware.
